Gunatit Industries thrives under the visionary leadership of Mr. Ilesh Vyas, an acclaimed mechanical engineer who embodies innovation and excellence in the galvanizing industry. Founded by his father, Mr. Gunvantray M. Vyas, the company has witnessed remarkable growth and transformation under Mr. Ilesh’s guidance over the past four decades. His technical expertise and strategic insights have propelled Gunatit to the forefront of the galvanizing sector, solidifying its position in the domestic market and expanding its reach to over 25 countries across Asia, the Gulf, and Africa.
Gunvantray Vyas previously worked with Kamani Engineering Company (KEC), India’s leading transmission line tower and hot-dip galvanizing company, located in Mumbai. In 1956, he oversaw the installation of India’s First Galvanizing plant imported from Germany In Kamani Engineering Company in Kurla, Mumbai. During his tenure, he also led the development of a new plant in Jaipur, adapting a German design to suit local needs. In 1976, after retiring from KEC, Mr. Vyas founded Gunatit Builders, laying the foundation for the company’s future success.
Several galvanizing projects were successfully undertaken across India, establishing a strong foothold in the industry.
In 1987, the first maintenance work on a galvanizing factory in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, was completed, marking the company’s entry into the global market.
In 1988, we exported our first make in India built hot-dip galvanizing plant to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
We successfully completed projects for our first 100 customers of Make In India hot-dip galvanizing plants, both across India and worldwide.
In 2004, we began manufacturing galvanizing kettles at our fabrication facilities.
In 2010, we delivered India’s first and largest hot-dip galvanizing plant, featuring a capacity of 900 tonnes per day and equipped with imported high-velocity burners. This achievement set a new benchmark in the industry, as only a few select European and Italian firms were capable of providing a plant of this scale at the time.
In 2013, we set up an in-house facility for producing tanks, along with an ETP plant, a fume extraction system for zinc and acid tanks, and other essential components.
In 2015, we reached a major milestone by supplying India’s first hot-dip galvanizing plant equipped with an electric furnace. Since then, we have delivered over 15 electrically operated plants to various industries.
Over the span of 33 years, from 1992 to 2024, we manufactured and exported more than 400+ plants in India & across Gulf countries, including Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, and Ajman, as well as Iraq, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Kenya, and Egypt. Additionally, we supplied two plants in Iraq and one in Egypt. During this period, over 1,000+ galvanizing kettles were delivered, with further shipments reaching countries such as Germany, Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, and other prominent nations.
